From now until May 22, 2024, you can join the Kickstarter community that will bring Intersections to life!

Last year the Asian American Ballet Project brought you Beginnings, our inaugural concert by the world’s first ever Asian American ballet company.

“I thought it was such an inspiration! As someone who is part of the AAPI community, I wanted to come support. The dances were beautiful and moving, I especially resonated with the East Asian inspired dances. This was my first experience watching an East Asian inspired choreo, overall seeing the representation was amazing!” – Beginnings audience member

We are currently planning for our upcoming concert: Intersections which will take place on June 29th and 30th at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.  Audience members will once again see Asian American dancers and stories represented in a culturally sensitive and meaningful way. By joining this community, you are helping us make this corner of the world a better place for you, your kids, and your friends. Intersections is a mixed bill of four uniquely Asian American ballets, exploring connections between Asia and America. These ballets bridge cultures and encourage audiences to reflect on their ideas about Asia. La Bayadere: a Desi Retelling juxtaposes Indian classical dance with classical ballet, India takes centerstage in this reimagining of the 1877 ballet, La Bayadere. Lon Po Po is based on an ancient Chinese version of Little Red Riding Hood, three little girls outsmart a big bad wolf. Reclamation is a multidisciplinary experience featuring spoken word, live music, and dance to explore one transracial adoptee’s journey reclaiming her family legacy. On the Way features stories of pilgrimage and meditations on home, set to heart-pounding original music.  Intersections ultimately offers four fresh perspectives on ballet through an Asian American lens. Join us as we let the world know, ballet is for everyone! We all benefit when we are all represented. ” ASIAN AMERICAN BALLET PROJECT
