Cambridge Community Dragon Boat Team summer practice started, and everyone (age 14+) is welcome to join us for a trial or improving dragon boat skills, or snapping a selfie on the beautiful Charles River at sunset.
Time:
The summer practice season is from mid-June to mid-to-late August, about 9 or 10 weeks.
Every Monday and Wednesday 6pm ~ 8pm
Every Saturday 10am ~ 12pm

On the Charles River, boarding location is at the MIT Richard J. Resch Boathouse, address: 409 Memorial Dr, Cambridge, MA (Google Map https://maps.app.goo.gl/hpea4p4YcjqALAQb8 )


Ticket types:
- One time try out ticket: $20 (can be upgraded to a season ticket after, if there are vacancies)
- Season pass: $80 (can be used for about 30 practices, 60 hours, maximum)
- Weekday season pass: $50 (use on Mondays and Wednesdays, excluding Saturdays )
- Weekend season pass: $50 (use Saturdays only)
- Age 14+ upper school or high school students: half price
Come to practice whenever you want. However, pre-registration for each practice is required.
You can do a trial before you decide if you go for a season pass.

Requirements:
- Age 14 and above. All ages are welcome!
- Every participant needs to sign a waiver in advance and submit it to Boston Dragon Boat Festival Inc.
- It is NOT required to be able to swim.
Note:
- There is no previous paddling experience needed.
- Season tickets are limited and can only be used by the person themself. They cannot be borrowed or transferred.
- Registering to each session is required. Season ticket registration is open three days before each practice day, and experience ticket registration is open the day before and on the day. For specific registration methods, please see the WeChat /WhatsApp/Email group update.
- Every practice requires 10 paddlers minimum to launch the boat. At present, it cannot be guaranteed that each practice can be on. Please keep updated.
- “Resident Dragon Boat” needs participants to organize together. Currently, captains, coaches and steerers are urgently needed. All organizations organizing the activities are volunteering, including the organizer, the Boston Dragon Boat Festival inc.
- Oars and life jackets are provided on board. Please pay attention to sun protection and bring your own drinking water.
- Teams participating in summer training are required to assist the festival dock staff in taking boats and equipment out at the beginning of training, and assist in putting away boats and equipment at the end of training.
Getting there:
- Bus: Route # 1, get off at 77 Massachusetts Ave, then walk for 9 minutes.
- Bus: Route CT2, Amesbury St @ Vassar St, then walk for 11 minutes.
- Parking can be challenging. Try street parking on Memorial Drive both south side (*free*) and north side (meter) near MIT boathouse, or Vassar St (meter).
